WMD Devices Arcane Preamp
Der Arcane Preamp von WMD ist ein zweistufiges Booster/Fuzz Pedal mit Dreiband-Klangregelung. The WMD Arcane Preamp is a two channel true bypass pedal. The first channel is a medium gain boost that adds a little bit of sparkle and breaks up into a soft overdrive when hit hard. The right footswitch activates the high gain fuzz channel which is fed by the boost and can provide hot lead tones or maximally crunched fuzz. A three band tone stack allows you to sculpt the fuzz tone into just what you want. Click for sound samples. The Controls Left Stomp - This foot switch bypasses or activates the pedal. The Arcane Preamp is wired true bypass, so it won't affect your tone when disengaged. When engaged the blue LED on the left side will be lit. Right Stomp - This foot switch selects the channel. The indicator for the channel select is under the fuzz channel tone controls. The LED will be lit when fuzz channel is active. Boost Gain - The leftmost knob controls the gain of the boost channel. This will add a bit of sparkle and clean gain at medium levels. Crank it to get soft clipping and lots of volume. Boost Level - This controls the output of the boost channel, setting ratios of the gain and level will allow more gain and overdrive without too much level. Or medium gain and maxed level for a big clean boost. Fuzz Gain - When the fuzz channel is engaged, it follows the boost channel. This knob takes the output of the boost and adjusts the level going into the fuzz. This channel has a boatload of gain. Low to medium levels provide touch sensitive distortion, crank it much past half and it starts to crunch. The fuzz channel can provide killer sounding feedback. Bass, Mids, Treble - The amp style tone stack is broken into three bands. Use it to sculpt your fuzz tone. The treble control is very sensitive around the middle with a ton of variation in sound. Fuzz Level - Since the tone stack is all passive, the stack feeds a final amplifier which puts out a ton of level. Use this to level your fuzz tone with the boost tone or to drive your amp's input stage to hell. The WMD Utility series is a low cost handmade line of effects designed to fulfill specific needs of players. These pedals are tools to help you focus and shape your sound. They are transparent and easy to use, yet powerful. The Utility Noise Gate This pedal combines a traditional noise gate with an effects loop. This setup allows you to put pedals inside the loop and have them not affect the way that the gate responds. Of course, you can use the gate like any noise gate as the send and return are internally normalled to eachother. Stomp Switch - This footswitch activates the effects loop and gate. The center LED will be lit when the pedal is engaged. Gate Threshold - This sets the level at which the gate will start to open. The LED under the Threshold will be lit when the gate is open. Level - This allows you to get a little boost from the noise gate if you'd like. The volume varies with the power supply voltage. Use this to get the right volume. Send - This sends an un-gated signal (buffered from the input jack) out to a loop of pedals. Hook this to the input of a fuzz or distortion or whatever you'd like to gate. Return - Plug the output of your last pedal into this. This is the signal that will be run through the gate and out the Out" jack on the Utility Noise Gate. If nothing is plugged into this jack, the dry signal from the input jack will be used and gated. How the Loop Works - No matter what level you have things set to inside your loop, the noise gate will respond the same. You'll want to plug your guitar into the input jack of the noise gate before any other pedals, or immediately after a distortion that you don't tweak much. Das EarthQuaker Devices Hizumitas wurde speziell für die einzigartige Wata von der legendären Experimental-Band Boris entwickelt, eine der härtesten Bands, die jemals aus Japan hervorgegangen sind. Das Hizumitas ist eine originalgetreue Nachbildung von Watas Distortion Pedal Elk BM Sustainar. Das Elk Sustainar ist eine japanische Variante des bekannteren Triangle BMP. Während der Entwicklung analysierten die Designer von EQD mehrere Vintage-Exemplare des BMP sowie verschiedene Versionen des Elk und stellten schnell fest, dass all diese Pedale sich recht deutlich voneinander unterschieden. Um klanglich den sprichwörtlichen Geist in der Flasche einzufangen, gab es nur eine Möglichkeit: Sie mussten Watas Originalpedal in die Finger kriegen. Der Tone-Regler ist für diese Art von Distortion untypisch und kann in Verbindung mit der Sustain-Einstellung den Charakter der Verzerrung drastisch verändern. Dreht man den Regler mit dem Uhrzeigersinn werden die Bässe angehoben, dreht man den Regler gegen den Uhrzeigersinn werden die Höhen betont. Der Tone-Regler kann von einer aggressiven Mid-Range bis zu durchdringenden Höhen gehen, wenn man ihn gegen den Uhrzeigersinn dreht. Drag: This digital reverb is made up of a bunch of short delays, this separates the delay lines creating a stuttering, pingy effect. This is the coolest control on the Afterneath, we highly advise slowly turning this while you let notes ring out for a cool warped speed effect. More delay as you turn it counter clockwise, more reverb as you turn it clockwise. Reflect: Controls the regeneration of the reverb, turn clockwise for more wash and echos, counterclockwise for less. This will self oscillate if turned up high. Mix: Blends the wet signal into the dry. Though it does not actually go full wet, it will gradually lower the clean level as you turn it clockwise and give the appearance of full wet. Measures 4 5/8? x 2 1/2? x 2.25? with knobs Power Our pedals take a standard 9 volt DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel. We always recommend pedal-specific, transformer-isolated wall-wart power supplies or multiple isolated-output supplies. Pedals will make extra noise if there is ripple or unclean power.
